Les Chantres Musiciens / Gilbert PatenaudeFranz Schubert: Die schöne Müllerin, D. 795 Les Chantres Musiciens is a male voice choir formed of young men aged between 17 and
29, all streaming from the famous Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. It was founded in
1992 by Gilbert Patenaude, who is also its musical director. Les Chantres Musiciens’
repertoire is both varied and complex, ranging from the classical works of Mendelssohn
Schubert, Schumann and Brahms to more modern works like those of Schaffer, Reger,
Shcöneberg, Schmitt and Langlais.
The choir has reputation for excellence confirmed by their winning national competitions, their concerts abroad and their many recordings. Their most recent tour enabled then to shine forth throughout Germany and France. The rarity of this kind of group has also enabled Les Chantres Musiciens to tackle a repertoire unexplored as yet on record or in concert. |
