Gramophone CD of the Month - December 2009
Two great piano virtuosos have put together one great disc! Nelson Freire, who have put out recent recordings of Brahms and Debussy, and Martha Argerich, who seemingly can play anything at the drop of a hat, joined forces for this live recording from the Salzburg Festival. The repertoire was well chosen, and extremely well played. Personaly favourites are two piano version of Brahms' Variation on a Themem by Joseph Haydn, and Ravel's La Valse. A great performance!
