Haydn was the master of the string quartet and this disc is evidence of that. Part of the second run of the 'Harmonia Mundi Haydn Edition', this disc brings back the Jerusalem Quartet for Haydn String Quartets. The first disc of Haydn by the Jerusalem Quartet was an absolute gem, and this is in the same vein. Exquistitely played, this recording proves the Jerusalem Quartet as one of the top chamber ensembles, and also Haydn's mastery in this genre. A wonderful performance and a gret disc!
