Cléopâtre was composer Jules Massenet's last work, completed shortly before his death in 1912; and is acclaimed as one of his finest compositions. This opera tells the story of the young Egytian temptress known throughout the ancient world for her extraordinary beauty and charisma. Filmed at the Great Thermae at Emperor Adrian s Villa in Rome, this acclaimed production stars Montserrat Caballé, baritone Filippo Bettosch, tenor Nikolai Baskov, and soprano Montserrat Martí. The Youth Mediterranean Orchestra is conducted by Miquel Ortega.
