Some of us have, long ago, worn out/given away our original copies of these famous duets but never replaced them in hopes of this exact repackaging. Not only is this 2-CD collection a great deal, the repackaging gods have finally responded to an all-to-common hope: Put the alternate takes on a separate disc so we don't have to listen to five similar versions of the same tune!
Based solely on Bill Evan's accompaniment, this set is worth the price of admission alone. Here he supports the husky voiced Bennett with a deft, lyrical touch, but is given enough solo space to make these recordings a true double-billing.
