Mozart: Die Entfuhrung Aus Dem Serail / Marshall

As usual with Beecham performances, you are getting Beecham's version. His ideas are strong (If he said it, you believed it!) and usually grounded in a very sophisticated, well-reasoned musicality. In Die Entfuhrung he moves one of Constanze's aria to act III, believing that two long difficult arias should not be in the same act. He, in my opinion, accentuates the comedy, but I have the rehearsals of this music where he yells and laughs, esp with Gottlob Frick's arias! This recording is lots of fun, very clearly recorded, and easy to listen to over and over again.
