This budget re-issue from Decca packs a top-notch performance into a great price. This 2-CD set does not include a full libretto, but if you can live without, then it is truly one of the better Aida recordings out there. Leontyne Price teams with Canadian John Vickers for the ill-fated lovers Aida and Radames. Rita Gorr is a perfectly jealous Amneris, while Robert Merrill a terrific Amonasro.
