It is the world premiere of an arrangement for string orchestra, played by the Camerata Zürich under the direction of first violinist Igor Karsko. Janáček's cycle is framed on the album by Josef Suk's Meditation on the Old Bohemian Chant St. Wenceslas and Antonín Dvořák's Notturno - pieces related to Janáček's composition because of their folk music roots. French writer Maïa Brami has written poems for the new arrangement of Auf verwachsenem Pfad, which she has also recorded herself for this recording.
