Guitarist Greg Skaff presents on his sixth album "Polaris" a new trio with two absolute legends, bassist Ron Carter and drummer Albert "Tootie" Health "Tootie" Health, both NEA Jazz Masters and well-known from countless albums and Performances Known for his work with soul-jazz legends and with groups centered around the Hammond B-3 organ, this recording is, surprisingly, Skaff's first in the last 30 years to feature his guitar trio entirely without piano or organ. However, it is also a special recording for Carter and Heath, who recorded in the early '60s with guitarist Wes Montgomery and on a groundbreaking recording with pianist Pianist Bobby Timmons, and have only been in the studio together once since together in the studio since then Greg Skaff takes full advantage of this inspiring backdrop and delivers delivers with "Polaris" an album that all three musicians involved are very proud of.
