Jakob Bro: Uma Elmo
Guitar - Jakob Bro
This is the first release from the trio, which also includes Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy, who make their first appearance together on this album. The album's highlight is the opener "Reconstructing a Dream," a "darkly lyrical reverie" that, according to the London Jazz News, "underscores Bro's observation about his work that there is "a great depth to this music." Other tracks include "To Stanko," a tribute to the late Thomas Stanko, whom Bro admired, and "Music for Black Pigeons," named for saxophone saint Lee Konitz, who was a close friend of Bro's, also a tribute to the late master.
