The Lost Album 34 years ago Miles Davis recorded a special album. However, it was never published. Until today. "Rubberband" is coming in 2019. When Davis went to the Ameraycan Studios in Los Angeles with producers Randy Hall and Zane Giles in 1985 and began sessions for "Rubberband", the American jazz trumpeter decided on a completely different musical direction than before: funk and soul. The musician was supported in the studio by keyboard players Adam Holzman, Neil Larsen and Wayne Linsey, saxophonist Glen Burris, drummer Vince Wilburn, Jr. and percussionist Steve Reid. After the recordings the album was not finished. Instead Davis directly recorded his next album "Tutu". Thus the "Rubberband" songs were largely forgotten. Until now, because the producers Hall and Giles finally finished the album together with Davis' nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr. after more than 30 years Eleven tracks are waiting for "Rubberband", with guest contributions by singer Randy Hall and singers Ledisi and Lalah Hathaway, the daughters of Soulikone Donny Hathaway. The cover of the album shows an original painting by Miles Davis from the time of the recordings. A piece of music history, a treasure that has finally found its way to daylight: Miles Davis' "Rubberband".
