Having the composer sing their own pieces adds a very unique tension to the performance: the choir, the conductor and the composer all have a different take on the piece, and resolving that tension is required for the piece to become whole. This tension gives rise to new interpretations of old pieces, and grants new pieces the excitement they deserve. The Audite Chamber Choir is the official choir of The Helsinki Conservatory of Music. Its membership consists of experienced singers. Audite was founded in 1992 by Jani Siven, who remains their conductor today. Audite’s repertoire includes challenging a cappella choral music, large scale choral-orchestral works, as well as opera and other stage works. Compositions by Audite singers Alex Freeman, Matthew Whittall, and Anna Huuskonen, as well as by conductor Jani Siven himself, form a core part of the choir’s repertoire.  Price: $27.98 |
