Beethoven: Piano Sonatas Nos. 8, 14, 23
Oleg Akkuratov is a true sensation in today’s musical world. He is a pianist and singer with a rare musical gift, a virtuoso performer of jazz and classical works, and a prize-winner of numerous international competitions and festivals. However, there is something symbolic in his renditions of Beethoven. The musician was able to acutely feel the drama of the composer’s life as he had to live with progressing hearing loss and struggle with despair and frustration of his hopes. The pianist adds his own personality to bright virtuosity, supreme professionalism and deep insight that the Russian traditions of Beethoven playing are known for.
