The organ used is tuned in the right historic (Werckmeister) temperament. It is the Coci/Klapmeyer organ (1498/1728) in St. Nicholas Church, Altenbruch. Ton Koopman is one of the world’s foremost early music keyboard specialists and directors, whose Complete Bach Cantatas has received worldwide acclaim. Dieterich Buxtehude (ca. 1637–1707) was a Danish-born organist and composer of the German Baroque; he was organist at St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck most of his life.
