TORN HUNGARIAN SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA PION VAILLANT DANEL

Trainworld is a new page of the collaboration between Francois Schuiten and Bruno Letort. After two years of compositions and experiments, the score imagined by the composer plays with railway sounds by creating bridges between industrial stamps and orchestra. The rhythmic entanglements weave a web in which we perceive some bits of minimalist music, and some electronic resources. But one of the most significant facets is undoubtedly this funny meeting between the French composer’s writing and the unbridled American guitarist American David Torn, an artist whose sound is so personal, so singular. This timbric interweaving fervently develops an innovative language that traces a pathway between improvised and written music. Torn is beautifully interwoven in the timbric setting, finding in this space a constructivist luminosity that leaves his imagination free. Bruno Letort’s three long-time accomplices, Franck Vaillant, Renaud-Gabriel Pion and Regis Boulard, embarked on this strange convoy, enthusiastically accompanying a project that plays with established codes. As for the HSO Orchestra of Budapest, it is a privileged partner of the composer, who had many times in the past responded to his compositional experiments.
