HUBER SPRAU

Bayer Records releases here a world premiere recording: Angelika Huber and Kilian Sprau recorded songs and Shakespeare sonnets by Anton Beer Walbrunn, who is mostly known today as teacher of Orff and Furtwangler. His works show an interesting development of a composer at the threshold between Romanticism and the 20th century. Following her years with the children’s choir of the Bavarian State Opera, Angelika Huber continued her musical education at the “Bayerische Singakademie.” After graduating from high school, she studied singing at the Munich Academy for Music and Theater as a student of Silvia Greenberg, Thomas E. Bauer and Christian Gerhaher as well as in the courses for Lied offered by Fritz Schwinghammer. She also received important impulses from Tanja d’Althann as well as master courses held by Christoph Pregardien, Andras Schiff and Brigitte Fassbaender. She can easily switch between styles of music, from Baroque cantatas and passions to operas of the classic and romantic periods, all the way to contemporary compositions. She has debuted many pieces that have been recorded.
