Featuring singer Johanna Iivanainen and saxophonist Jukka Perko, the groups present well-known Finnish Film Music. The big band and orchestra arrangements were made by conductor Vellu Halkosalmi. The Turku Jazz Orchestra is a big band of seventeen musicians who came together in the spring of 2012. The orchestra’s artistic director is conductor/composer/arranger Vellu Halkosalmi. The group has achieved an impressive number of artistic achievements, and performed alongside an impressive number of famous professional Finnish musicians, such as Severi Pyysalon Iiro Rantala and Sami Pitkamon.
