LA SIMPHONIE DU MARAIS REYNE

On this recording Hugo Reyne, with his ensemble La Simphonie du Marais, offers us an outstanding testimony of that enduring practice of adaptation and ornamentation that marked the Opus V by Corelli since it was first published in 1700. Adopting a frugal ornamentation which always respects the purity and elegance of Corelli’s melodic lines, Hugo Reyne, through his instrument, allows us to discover some amazing details and unsuspected expressive nuances, that make the switch from violin to recorder of particular interest and value. The program of this release is completed by some Toccatas by Bernardo Pasquini who worked with Corelli in St. Louis des Français, the beautiful Roman church where, in December, 2012, this concert recording was carried out. French flutist, oboist and conductor Hugo Reyne began playing the recorder and oboe at a very early age. He received numerous diplomas and highest awards from several conservatoires, as well as many national level prizes. Hugo also devotes a considerable amount of time to musicological research and the publishing of early scores. In 1998, he was made Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the ministry for culture for his work on France’s musical heritage.
