Tamás Fejes was born into a family of musicians in Szeged, Hungary. At the age of ten he won second prize in the ‘János Koncz’ national violin competition. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and while there gave numerous recitals and made several Radio and TV appearances. After graduation, a scholarship enabled him to continue his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Tamas has led and co-led various orchestras in Germany, continuing to perform recitals, concertos and chamber music concerts in the UK, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Hungary. He was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, but is currently the assistant leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and also part-time tutor in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Tamás Fejes writes: “The sonatas and partitas have been an integral part of my musical development. These works have been a source where I find the essence of violin playing. These are pieces of sublime and intimate creations, bringing emotional and intellectual nourishment.”
