Peter Jarvis began collaborating with Ron Mazurek on this release in the year 2003. Unfortunately, shortly after beginning this project Ron suddenly and tragically passed away. The intent of this release was to produce an album of music of both musicians, Jarvis and Mazurek. Jarvis would perform Mazurek’s pieces (most of which were composed specifically for him) and the New Jersey Percussion Ensemble and the William Paterson University music community would perform Jarvis’s pieces. Peter Jarvis picked this project back up recently to bring it to fruition, and the result is a firework display of brilliant compositions, performed by exceptional musicians from the William Paterson University.
