BAVARIAN RADIO SYMPHONY JANSONS

This new release featuring Beethoven's Symphonies 7, 8, and 9 is an individual release from the previously released complete series of Mariss Jansons conducting the symphonies of Beethoven. Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony was composed between 1811 and 1812, while Beethoven was spending time in Teplice improving his health. The composer is recorded as saying that the piece was one of his best works. The Allegretto movement was encored at the performance, and it is not uncommon to hear that movement performed separately from the remainder of the symphony. The Eighth Symphony is a light-hearted work, composed in 1812, and features cheerful motifs and various passages considered by many to be musical jokes. The monumental Ninth Symphony speaks for itself as one of the most loved works in the entire classical repertoire. “This must be one of the year’s best performances of the Ninth Symphony. Not a trace of lofty heroism here..” (Mostly Classic)
