Heifetz, who was born in Russia in 1901 and died in Los Angeles in 1987, gave his first concert when he was only 6 years old. In 1917 he emigrated to the United States, where he made his Carnegie Hall debut that same year. In the 1920s he cemented his reputation as the world's finest violinist, endowed with breathtaking precision and unsurpassed musicality. His recordings set new standards even then. This 3-CD edition contains some of his most famous recordings, remastered from analogue tapes especially for this release.
