POING has performed at festivals such as Other Minds, Huddersfield and Klangspuren. This release is the end result of years of collaboration with such composers as Richard Barrett and Helmut Oehring. Especially intriguing is the title track of the album, ‘sur POING’ by German composer Helmut Oehring (b. 1961). In the piece, the composer set out to tell the story of POING by combining sound clips of POING talking about their instruments, Oehring’s existing compositions, and field recordings from POING’s career.
