KREUTZER QUARTET

In Flight Music contains String Quartets Nos. 3-5 by composer Edward Cowie. After studying composition with Alexander Goehr, he was awarded a Chopin Fellowship to study in Poland with Witold Lutostawski. Cowie has described himself as ‘the musical equivalent of a plein air visual artist’. Many of his compositions are inspired by sketches or paintings. The performing ensemble on this recording is the Kreutzer Quartet, consisting of Peter Sheppard Skaerved, Mihailo Trandafilovski, Morgan Goff, and Neil Heyde.
