PETER KATIN

Pianist Peter Katin began showing musical talent at the young age of 4. When he was 12, he was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music, although the official age of entry was 16. When he debuted on December 13, 1948 at the Wigmore Hall, he performed works by Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, and the composer featured on this recording, Scarlatti. This recording was taken in September of 1985. After this recording, Katin resumed his career until his passing in 2015. The recording has been remastered to the original performance’s vitality.
