It is interesting to note that the order of the pieces constitutes a kind of “bridge- form”. Schumann’s works represent the opening and concluding items. Proceeding inwards pieces by Fauré can be heard. At the rising and falling arch a work each by Kodály can be found. Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns and Rachmaninov occupy the middle.
