This release presents the complete music for clarinet and piano by Ferruccio Busoni (1866-1924). • The works span Busoni’s entire creative life, from the youthful classical forms to the highly chromatic and expressionist language of his maturity. • Two works by his father, the famous clarinetist Ferdinando Busoni (1834-1909) are included in the program, a Melodia and a Rêverie, exquisite genre pieces of the late 19th c. • Italian clarinetist and scholar Davide Bandieri plays solo clarinet in the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, is an avid chamber music player and a specialist in contemporary music.
