Bach: Goldberg Variations / Ensemble Tactus

Every classical music lover knows something about the Goldberg Variations, and probably about Glenn Gould’s interpretations of this masterpiece. The surprise here is the instrumentation, by Raphaël Aggery – 3 marimbas and 2 vibraphones – and sound of this combination. Jean Geoffroy, Professor at the Conservatoire de Lyon (France), has introduced Bach in his pedagogic work for many years, and has already recorded for marimba the complete Bach Suites, Partitas and Sonatas (Skarbo 11077, 11088). The young Ensemble Tactus shares with Mr. Geoffroy a real passion for Bach’s music.
