Yvonne Lefébure (1898-1986) was a highly-regarded French pianist and teacher. She studied with Alfred Cortot at the Paris Conservatoire and had a long and successful concert career. She was the teacher of such luminaries as Dinu Lipatti, Samson François and Imogen Cooper. This disc collects two of Lefébure’s live recordings made in the early 1960s for the BBC. Of special note is her Fauré, as she was one of the composer’s favorite performers of his music.
