Grammy winning pianist and composer Billy Childs pays homage to the great singer-songwriter Laura Nyro with Map to the Treasure. With her blend of Broadway-inspired melodies, jazz and socially-conscious lyrics, Nyro enjoyed a string of soulful pop hits that continues to inspire and resonate today. In this heartfelt program, Childs is joined by vocalists Becca Stevens, Moira Smiley and Lisa Fischer, who was a featured performer in the Academy Award® winning documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom, to perform new arrangements of some of Nyro’s most iconic songs.
