This Melodiya recording of Ravel’s piano trio comes from a 1983 Moscow Conservatory concert. The Kagan-Gutman-Richter threesome formed in the 1970’s and became one of the brightest musical performing arts phenomena in the country. The unique artistic personalities of each of the soloists did not prevent them from creating a formidable ensemble with a clear sound, an integrated performing style and profound interpretative concepts.
