Between October 1957 and March 1996, the famous Italian conductor Carlo Maria Giulini conducted the famous orchestra of the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam 81 times. The concert recorded here took place on June 22, 1960 at the Holland Festival, and the program comprised only Italian music. Repertoire included Vivaldi’s Gloria and Verdi’s Four Sacred Pieces with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf as the featured soloist. This recording is issued here for the first time.
