Mozart produced scores with variable accompaniment for performances at the Austrian Emperor's court and private salons. This trilogy of Viennese Piano Concertos was popular in its day, but neglected in the Romantic era. Today, K415 is played most often. On this new SACD from Praga, piano soloist Slávka Pechocová-Vernerová, a player reminiscent of Ivan Moravec, demonstrates these works' contemporary relevance. She is accompanied by the Prazák Quartet and Pavel Nejtek on double-bass.
