The disc pairs the deliciously good-natured Serenade No.1 by Brahms, an early work full of great tunes, with early Beethoven - his popular Romances for violin and orchestra – one of which may have been the second movement to his unfinished C major concerto WoO5 of the mid-1790s. Dumay shines in both roles, and the Kansai Philharmonic once again demonstrates their world-class skills and burnished tone.
