Eileen Farrell: Verdi Arias

Eileen Farrell was one of the great Met stars of the 60s and was terribly underused by Bing. This Columbia collection catches her at her considerable best. However, these have already been released - and with duets with Tucker to fill out the CD, a much better value. If you have the release on Sony Classical MHK 62358, you already have everything on this CD. If, however, you're new to opera and one of the under-experienced who have only heard modern sopranos, including the anemic lot at the Met, get this CD and hear how a Verdi soprano should sound.
