Formed in 1994, the ensemble has received three international awards: First Prize, York Early Music Competition (1995), First Prize, FNAPEC "Musique d'Ensemble" Competition (April 1997), First Prize and the Public Prize at the Sinfonia Competition, chaired by Gustav Leonhardt (September 1997). According to the requirements of the repertoire, the basic nucleus of the ensemble is joined by other musicians of recognised talent. Amarillis works regularly with the finest singers of its generation, including Patricia Petibon, Stephanie d'Oustrac and Robert Getchell. The ensemble has received the highest praise from the national and international press for its recordings (10 CDs) on the Ambroisie-Naive label. Their most recent recording, also with Stephanie d'Oustrac, is devoted to 17th-century Italian music by Cavalli, Monteverdi, A.
