The present recording is the second in a series of four CDs accompanying the edition DIE SOLOFLÖTE, a collection of original music for transverse flute published by Edition Peters. This edition, as well as the recordings presented here, offer a thorough and complete overview of the solo flute repertoire for both professionals and amateurs. Among the works in this collection are both well-known as well as obscure compositions, some of which have never been recorded or published before. The sheer extent of the material made available here for the first time, ranging from simple exercises to salon compositions and from musical entertainment to challenging concert pieces, illustrates the range and variety of the solo flute repertoire.
