Not only does Alison Teale have a phenomenal technique and dynamic range, she can also fl oat a magical phrase, as in Eugene Bozza's Divertissement. Everywhere, Alison Teale pushes both her instrument and the repertoire beyond its normal limits. Alison is the Principal Cor Anglais player with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Whilst studying at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Alison was appointed Co Principal Oboe with the Hong Kong Philharmonic orchestra.
In 2003 she moved to Cardiff to become the Principal Cor Anglais player for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Alison won the Isle of Wight International Oboe competition in 2001 which led to her Purcell Room debut, she has also performed numerous concertos for BBC radio 3 broadcasts, notably Quiet City with Alison Balsom. Alison also enjoys regularly giving masterclasses, performing solo and chamber music recitals and the additional variety that comes from free lance work.
