This DVD takes you on a journey through Dvorak's life, from his humble origins in a small Czech town, to the height of his career in New York city. The backbone to the story is Dvorak's correspondence, which was extensive, with Brahms, Hanslick, Simrock, and his own family. Supraphon has done an amazing job showing us the man behind the music, as well and the story of some his most famous compositions. On top of the documentary, there are almost an hour of bonus materials, including individual performances of some of Dvorak's best know works. Truly great value, and a phenomenal DVD!
